For an esteemed client’s online store, I was tasked with tailoring a solution to meet the following unique requirements:

• Enabling shipments of orders to different addresses.
• Integrating the capability to append personalized notes for each order.
• Granting customers the capability to amend orders during their processing phase, including updates to personal notes or modifications in the delivery address.

During my evaluation, I came across the WooCommerce plugin, “Multiple Ship-to Addresses.” While it was adept at managing diverse shipping addresses, its method of database storage posed challenges. Instead of using the standard multiple keys-values system, it stored addresses as singular entries. Additionally, the accompanying documentation had certain limitations in its scope.

Recognizing the need for a solution that would provide a seamless user experience, I engineered modifications to the “Multiple Ship-to Addresses” plugin, ensuring it catered to the client’s specific requirements. Furthermore, I developed custom functionalities that not only enabled dynamic order modifications but also eliminated the need for customers to reinitiate the entire checkout process when making minor changes, thus ensuring their initial shipping addresses and personalized notes remained intact.
